Interactive Format

Verses come to live with reading playback in native Persian. Additionally a music is curated for each verse to enhances the experience. Great care has been taken in expanding interpretive meaning in Persian as well as English to increase viewers appreciation for the original language. Every verse has been dramatized in multimedia in order to keep the audience engaged and playing. The format is great for teaching and learning as it allows user to move at their own pace. For a more traditional playback the “Auto” setting will play verses along automatically once the reading is over. You can play a sample on here on your browser without the need for download:

Developer

This project was initiated by Dean Gransar on Spring of 2022 in an attempt to bring the epic stories of Shahnameh to life. Dean studied philsophy at UCLA and art at NYU. He continues to curate the Shahnameh and develop the next chapter of History of Kings, or Shahnameh.

Hearing the verses while they are written on the screen, is optionally enhanced by a classical music. The imagery brings a simplified pixelated in the style of comic book is for younger audience.
